Happy Birthday to Pyarelal !!

Our Little Turtle''Pyarelal''

It was time in the year to celebrate our bonding with our little turtle whom we named ‘Pyarelal’(adorable).Firstly reason for adoption of pet was khwaish’s love for animal and for long time she wanted to have pet.

Pyraelal ready for the celebration.

Well had wonderful year of bonding and Today Pyarelal is one year old…khwaish developed such a lovely bond with pyaru(we fondly call him)…she used to give her food every day, bath, talk to him, run after him(it’s been said tortoise walk very slow. Believe me pyaru is quite fast;)winks)…So khwaish had wonderful friend at home. I cherish to see her bonding with Pyaru.

To make the day special and memorable we plan little get together for khwaish’s friends where they can have some fun and activity at the same time. So I planned all the things and invited her friends.

Well we started the party with little dedication to pyarelal by showing the movie our one year journey with our little turtle….still those slides of movie take u back to the time.

Pyarelal Movie.

After enjoying the movie ‘Pyarelal’ I had some more activity stored in my pocket. I had in my mind to make card or scrap for pyarelal on the special day, I started same with taking Pyaru imprint on chart paper…then one by one too colorful handprints of all kids.

Hand prints of all kids and Pyare..

Meanwhile kept prints for drying up…main attraction of birthday party ‘’yes’’ Cake cutting. With  circle of all friends around the cake and with Pyraelal presence blew the candle and cut the cake. All kids had fun blowing one candle each…..followed by snacks for kids and mummies.

Little dancing session for kids. Now time for little messages from all Mummies next to handprints of their kids ….and we are ready with Pyarelal Birthday card.

All Mummies in action...writing some messages for Pyarelal.

“Happy Birthday Pyarelal, May gods bless u and many more year of togetherness”.

We have made our little effort to bond with the nature by taking care of ‘Pyarelal’.

Looking forward to know your pet story and experience.Do share.

Masterpiece by Khwaish.

This project is really close to my heart…we never thought that it will turn out to be so great.

The seed for same project was sown by one of my multi-talented blogger friend Rashmie Jaaju who is great inspiration for me whom I met through online parenting site Parentree. She organized an event called Forest fiesta last month to celebrate the World Environment week. So while reading about the same on her blog I thought in my mind ‘I will surely participate in the same’.

Now thinking process started for the same, I thought make something which is meaningful and we can relate same with the theme ‘Forest’. So I and my daughter Khwaish took out treasure which includes all colors and craft material. Suddenly my eye got stuck on discarded sketch pens….i knew what I will do with this material.

So let’s get started…First we get started sticked the discarded sketch pens in line, then Khwaish pasted some coloured pastas on the board(painted long back),cloth holder in the shape of butterfly(green) and Sun (broken piece of toy)…so everything on the board.
Khwaish in all action.

Pasted all discarded sketch pens, pasta, sun and one cloth holder clip(green
and black) on chart.

Now time to start little coloring for the same…Ok u won’t believe me but yes to give sky blue color we took discard sketch refill and dipped it in water then started …we used some tempra paints to add little more brightness to sky. When khwaish holding brush and coloring ….u can always feel joy on her face.

Sky is all set..

Since tree/forest all about green color…we cut glace paper into different shapes and size .Made leaves with the same .We had one spare wild animal chart in our treasure so…cut out five animal lion, leopard, tiger, giraffe and bear and pasted same on the board.

Now to add more beauty to trees…put some fruits.

Dense forest with lots of wild animal, colourful butterflies.

Someday back I had night safari at my Kerala trip which gave me idea to segregate the painting into night and day view…in night view we had fireflies all over the sky.

Fireflies added to the canvas.

So here comes our masterpiece…I got it framed .

Masterpiece.

Friends my whole idea to write the details of craft was initiate and urges to recycle the things which we consider waste sometime. I guess we can teach our kids little bit about recycling the things…At least this can be little step to avoid deforestation.

Make the best out of waste!!

Fun at Farm house.

I am someone who believes in experiencing something beyond the bookish knowlegde…I mean practical experience is more important when it comes to nature. For nature lover like my daughter Khwaish watching different animal in action is fun and fascination…She been watching different domestic animals in picture books since she was only 20 months old.

Now at her age to know more about animal, we make occasional visit to farm near to my place…believe me its absolute fun for kids to see these animals and birds plus learning same time. So when she reaches two and half year we planned a farm trip.
Idea Behind going to this excursion:
1.       These activity let’s kids to explore animal and bird kingdom. I guess for kid of 2+ recognizing the animal with name will be great achievement.
2.       They can make out /see what they eat.
3.       Will see what their offspring look like lamb,kitten,e.t.c
4.       Later u can tell those sounds these animal make…Meow, Bah bah.
5.       Will learn where they live and what their shelter look like…
Bonding becomes really strong ….very important.

During one of such visit to farm…We explore lots of Emu, rabbits, sheep, cow, hen, cat, dog etc.

While roaming in the farm we got knows that whole flock of Emus following us, they were really n number of Emus.Khwaish got to know Emus baby is called Chick…lots of Emus chicks. I was fortunate to hold one of Emus Egg which is 650 grams in weight and cost around Rs.2500-3000 which vet nary doctor of farm told me.

Then second comes Rabbit..Khwaish had gala time with them. I remember at her first playschool she had two rabbits for whom she even used to carry carrot everyday…So that love still continues. She had great time feeding the rabbits. We got to see different colours of rabbits white, grey, black and some mixed colour…they babies were very cute.

Friends next on our list was Sheep…Yes still that Bah sounds take me back to farm and still play with khwaish our sheep game where she is little lamb and I’m Momma sheep...Ha ha .My Hubby got chance to hold one lamb. Interesting fact I noticed there was some of sheep’s were insured, they had some button kind of thing pierce in their ear. Got two lamb in action like a little kids…amazed.

I guess blog on farm can’t be complete without mentioning the Cow…Since long back khwaish’s school organized one event called Milk product Day, she knows lot more about cow. She is telling me’ ’Mamma cow gives us milk and we get strong after drinking milk’ ’I think khwaish is right.

So this Farm Day excursion trip was awesome and learning for the family, most important Khwaish had wonderful time.
Now this is time for u all to explore beyond the books. I say….Go for it.Enjoy!!!

Exploring one day from Nature's Eye.

Waking up my little sweetheart in the morning “Good Morning betu”.Time to wake up..
Another one….”Khwaish its afternoon we will go to play in the evening with friends”.
These are some of my lines to my daughter khwaish to tell her about the time of the day.
Nature has its own way to tell the time in the day…
So finally I thought let’s explore one day on the canvas in nature’s way with khwaish ,the different phase of one day Morning, afternoon, evening and night.
Well I showed her some pic in my nature's library folder and some clips from net to have little more idea on what we are doing. It becomes little easy to do task when u have some homework done.

Catch the glimpse of rising sun.

Evening view from my terrace.

Some faded pics of Moon.

This activity was more of fun and innovative since Khwaish got to make some new colours. We were out of orange colour stock so we made same by mixing  red and yellow plus we want little lighter shade of blue colour…so made it by mixing the same.

Sucessfully made orange and light blue shades.

Divided one piece of chart into four phase –coloured the sky at morning, afternoon, evening and night in different shades. Made small mountains and little tree next to same….added sun in different position which was very important…like morning it is rising. Night time can see stars and little trace of moon….May b its little cloudy night. Added little birds to make view more relatable.

Adding different shades to sky.

Morning sun is rising out of mountains...lots of birds about to start
their day.

Evening view birds going back home.Night can see faded Moon .
May b its cloudy night.

So very proudly we present our little folding  hanging cards….with dawn to dusk.

Turning potato into lovely birdie.

It has been long time since we have done some experiments with our colour. My daughter Khwaish’s one of the love is crafting and coloring …other than Doreomon (cartoon character).

During the one of vegetable shopping my hubby saw one of potato with unusual shape and thought my little daughter will use it for crafting later. So we took that extra precious super shape potato and rest of vegetables with us.

Well this weekend in our activity time my daughter thought to try our hands on that potato.

We started with yellow color to create our little cute birdie…Khwaish all set with her colorings, did bright yellow on potato. Now time to give beak to little birdie..

Once we finished with coloring and beak …we gave our little birdie two eyes….
Friends here comes our bird…Duck.

So which bird you are making today!!!!

Exploring the leaves.

Weekend is time when usually we have list of things to do list ready. But sometimes we are lucky enough   on weekends….And then we always have one thing on our plan list ….Yes friends I’m talking about my green visit.

Thank god we are living in the place which is very close to our heart and also green surroundings.

Banana Leaves..Big one.

Well out of one such one green weekend we decided to explore different shapes of leaves…and what we were amazed to see how nature as an architect has its own beautiful creation. We came across so many sizes of leaves…small, medium and big (we got some big one for our later experiments…

For small kids like my three and half year daughter understanding on leaf is color green and how Leaf is one in the plant which gives food to whole plant.
Pappaya Leaves

Do explore nature around you …I define this as breathe the nature process.
