Summer holiday-Making Finger puppet.

 

Holiday is giving us perfect opportunity to try the new craft activities.So this time while hunting for new activity we came across making of finger puppet quite known concept.

Although Khwaish seem to be  not interested while making the puppets,but she enjoyed little cutting and pasting part later once we started the process.She enjoyed placing all the creatures in line ,even enjoying putting them in her small fingers.

 

Making these bright coloured puppet is absolutely fun,kids get attracted with these bright colour creatures.So have fun with finger puppet-

• Encouraging their motor development skill-cutting ,pasting and sticking the small parts.(please be around with kids to help while cutting,pasting and sticking,since parts are very small for kids to handle independently.)
• Puppets can be used later for story telling process which is already in our list.Use different sounds modulation for story telling,kids will have feel of animal(add roar sound for Lion).
• Puppets can be used to later to discover what they eat,where they live,will fun for kids to explore through play process.
• Differciating them into bird and animal kingdom,you can make some more,and play the game of differciation.
• Bright in colour-Can play colour recognition games with small kids.

There are numeral games you can play with kids using puppet ,I’m sure your kid will have fun while learning too.

So go and explore your own games with finger puppet.

Book characters came out.

 

Sometime we need not put extra thinking session to plan our art and craft session,it just come instinctively as extension of reading session of  story books at bed-time .

Although we have read  the same  book  3-4 times before ,but never thought or plan any session for the same.I have collection of some knick knacks into my craft treasure which I feel we could utilize somewhere .

For the current session we have used scrap roller of foil paper used to keep food fresh.We had three big roller and I cut each one into three pieces to increase their numbers.And we coloured the roll in different colours to create the body of the animals according to the description in the book.

 

 

Ok,now let’s have little story telling-Story is about naughty monkey who coloured different animals of  the jungle in different colours starting with snakes and frogs in multicolor and green respectively to create colurful view in the dull and boring jungle.

Once he coloured snake and frog,his confidence grew stronger and moved to other animals.Next in his list was Giraffe,leopard,bear,lemur,zebra….although elephant is not there in the story book,but we created.

Now we were ready with the bodies of the animals,I did my drawing work to create the different animals faces.I hope you will like same,after long time tried my hands on drawing with the help of pictures in the book.

 

 

Now we are ready with the bodies and faces of the animals,time to put soul in the same,sorry I mean joining the both and creating animal.For the same we used fevicol and pasted face of animal on their respective bodies.Khwaish really excited to see final product of animals.

 

 

Now planning to use same for story telling session with Khwaish.Never know we can create our own story with these animals.

 

 

By the way I forgot to tell you that since this naughty monkey coloured all the animals without telling or asking  them,in the end of story these animals coloured monkey’s bumpy with blue colour.

Crafty Vacations

 

Posting the blog little late about book exploration .During Khwaish’s vacations we had enough time to do the things which we love to  without any worries of right time.

 

This book is from VIKAS publications name fun with craft(amusing assembly craft) perfect for kids above three year .

 

Book contains some template which can be easily extracted from book,and just follow the simple instruction of folding and pasting to make beautiful creations.

Things we have made from book are puppy,seasons greeting in drawing book,little fairy (Khwaish’s favorite),tribal mask,decorative lantern(for diwali season),fancy baskets.

 

 

 

It was fun making those creative things from books,Khwaish play with those things and sharing same with her friends.

Green Creatures

 

Idle weekends are always time to explore books or nature,this time we did both.Long time back Khwaish’s Grandfather who is book lover got a book for her ‘Patoon ka Chidyaghar’(Leaves Zoo) which is written  by Arvind Gupta.

 

 

For the craft material of the activity,we went for Nature ride with hubby.We got leaves of different shapes,which is always fun to see the same(Exploring the leaves).Don’t have pictures details since Camera battery was low.

In search of the leaves,went to farm where farmer interacting in local language,I must say more of sign language.In the same farm got different leaves and got to see different plants Egg-plant,papaya,different flower,and of course  Khwaish favorite little pussy kitten.During the nature walk saw two lovely birds sitting on this huge big tree,O god I was missing my Camera at that time.

 

Ok back home with different size and shapes of leaves.We started with making tortoise dedication to our Pyaru (Farewell to Pyarelal.)with the leaves,which turned out to be pretty good.

 

Then next we made butterfly which probably looks like grasshopper due to small leaves…..

Khwaish wanted to use petals too for making eyes of Crab….

First creation in this blog is self explored idea which is Lord Ganesha.

Learning and making different creatures using this unique idea was great experience.I m planning to continue same activity for one more week after fetching appropriate leaves ,so ready for some for animals and birds in our  blog.

By the way fourth creature is owl sitting on tree…I hope you got it right!!:))))

Rainbow colour caterpillar.

In the first week of September I started an activity with Khwaish  out of rainbow love –Nature’s creation Rainbow.To continue the same project we have done more action.
Using the paper glasses left after Khwaish’s Birthday we have try to explore the rainbow colour caterpillar quite inspired by Eric Carle book ‘The  very Hungry caterpillar’






Initially activity started as fun to colour the glasses in different colour which was fun for Khwaish later her friend Khushi also joined us …more the merrier.







Both the girls did excellent job colouring the glasses in different colour.






Now we are just ready with our VIBGYOR glasses and since some days back only we have read the book ‘The very Hungry Caterpillar’  image is fresh in our mind.So I brought some toothpicks and connected all coloured glasses with the help of same,so we are ready with our rainbow colour caterpillar.






Again this activity of making rainbow colour caterpillar was fun and excellent team-work of Khwaish and Khushi.

Flower visit-Feel the colour magic of Nature.

Our love for flower is quite evident from our collection of books on the same topic.





And at regular intervals to keep our interest entertained we have gone for couple of flower visits too.With no second thought Sunflower garden visit was one heavenly visit we had till the date.



Even last year itself when Khwaish turned three we started the series of  visits which I have named as ‘Breathe the nature ‘ includes several flower garden visit from one inside the green house(Gainda flower),Rose garden(which is khwaish’s one of choicest) and so on.




Due to some reason I could not send Khwaish to school today.Since hubby is night shift to create peace environment with Khwaish around becomes a challenge for me on such situation.
God always gives a way when u need one…there is one beautiful temple near to my place and near to that temple Picturesque flower garden.With our Daal Parantha rolls me and Khwaish got ready for our expedition.






And rest is something which kept both of us bowled over.It was me ,Khwaish and our Camera.This visit was awesome with fluttering butterflies and roaming dragonfly over the garden,different colourful flower,leaves,different plants,bell ringing from near temple….I call it absolute blissful day.

Once we were done with flower garden went to temple for darshan .

Making a Sea View.

Sometimes back last year Khwaish and me made a aquarium from the idea from one of friend’s blog.It is was really great creative work with bright colours used for the same and even made Pyraelal sit on the same aquarium to know his friends well.



And now to re experience whole concept again ,I bought a book recently ‘In the Big Blue Sea’ for Khwaish with lots of bright pictures and sea animal of course.The first step was to read the book and have journey of sea with host fish ‘Nemo’…Khwaish enjoyed it so much that first time itself,she made me read thrice.I guess worth it!!
And this book contains number of activity at the end of it,with lot of sticker pasting work which is Khwaish favorite.



Once we were done with book,next day which was weekend luckily due to having ample amount of time and not worrying for morning hush and rush…we got up little late than usual wake up time and after some basic chores ,started our session .
So today we want to explore the same book with colour and craft magic.
Here we started rolling with blue colour to create the sea view.Once the sea tank is ready ,time to make sea creatures by rough drawing of same,colouring ,cutting and pasting same.




I very proudly present Khwaish’s work and feels good the way she has done activity almost independently. So here comes our sea view.


This is session is important -

• Khwaish enjoyed book and at the same time get to know about sea world more.
  
• She has done this work independently to the extent, she has sone couple of rough sketch,cutting,colouring and pasting work….I m seeing my kid growing with what she loves.
  
• Cultivating book love in her.
