Collecting colours from Nature.

This is time of  year when colour of festival is just round the corner.Often miss the home town for not being with the family plus get nostalgic about my childhood days when we used to drench each other with different water and dry colours and later used to treat ourselves with homemade sweet specially to mentioned ’Gujiya’(one of the famous sweets for holi festival),and how can I forgot those khathe meetha Dahi bhalla which we still prepare.

As first phase of celebrating the festival of colour,we planned the session using birthday decoration paper. We used all colour as a rainbow effect, pasted on white chart one after another.Initially wanted to paste some of nature’s creation on the top of same but later dropped the idea, reason you will know in the later part of blog.

As lifting our spirit more for the festival, done a abstract which is one of my favorite, using colour  and brush ,flow with the same.

Last but not least ,our love for nature gave us opportunity to explore and collect different colours of nature on canvas, just showcasing them,no paints,no colours, nothing ,only visual medium of expression.Initially, tried it on small scale and got so impressed and excited  ,I planned to do same on large sheet with help of Khwaish’s collection.

Small version created on canvas with putting some dry leaves(brown colour),green leaf, sea shell, long dry leaf(eucalyptus),pomegranate flower(red),some berries.I liked the beauty of the idea.So being hit idea in my family,I thought to put same show in bigger version.

I gave Khwaish one big chart and her own collection from the nature,I must say nature offer so many lovely colorful creations, touched to see leaf itself got so many

shades to offer from green, brown, mix of yellow and green, yellow, purple, and on and on .She placed everything in just random order according to her wish. She enjoyed placing each product, loved those berries.

Making our own Nature’s Door-Independent Project of Khwaish.

One of the best thing which I have discovered in last few months is pleasure of the bond between nature and us.The whole process of ’Breathe the nature’.We been exploring greenery and farm near to my place in our vacant weekend though wanted to do it every weekend, and thoroughly enjoying the process as a FAMILY.During the process we been lucky to see different flowers and vegetable plantation ,whether it is walking on dry leaves, watching the green colour, butterflies fluttering over flower and list goes on and on ,gives so much positive energy to body and soul.

I think love for nature inside Khwaish nurturing, she’s discovering her own ways to get close to it.I remember during Khwaish’s  Dusshera holidays two years back ,we got some leaves and made some leaf prints card , coloured the feathers last year and lot many activity involving nature’s product in our sessions.

Now I worked on her ideas, bringing her imagination to reality. While going to school and coming back Khwaish picked some of the dry leaves in few days,I was wondering at that time what might be her purpose of doing that. But I kept quiet and kept patience. And finally she broke her silence about her collection.

DSCN6648

One day after coming back from school, changed her school uniform and asked me for ‘Pair of scissor and transparent tape’.I gave her the required things, still I was thinking ….

There is one small door attached to my kitchen which I got purposefully when Khwaish reached one year to close her entry in the kitchen for safety reasons.I never thought khwaish will reuse same for nature bonding purpose now.

DSCN6647

With scissor and tape next to her,she made this her working station….work started. One by one khwaish sticked all her brown colour dry leaves on board added by pigeons feather .She explored her own ways to put the whole  show into place…next day again she got some more.

Once she was done with her work, door looks something like this.

I offered her some of the sticker from the book ’Saving Our Planet’ ,she gave more meaning to our nature board.

So this is final look of nature door,an independent project by my Nature enthusiastic.I feel delighted to see my little one vision to create her own nature door using nature’s gift and creating bond more stronger.

Grapes Farm visit.

After long vacations in snowy climate to resettling back in my own city kept us engage for long time. One thing I’m missing since the time came back to my own city  is the green colour in my life, colour which gives me lots of positive energy and there is whole process attached to same which I termed as ‘Breathe the Nature’.So back to my trips of extracting positive energy from the nature.

Well my tour started with witnessing little baby snake on my car, very beautiful but poor snake was dead.May god give peace to this little creature.

Done with one of exploration-Dino’s Park

I was planning to build a Dinosaur Park with Khwaish from long time back. Some of winter celebrations kept us engage plus some great snowy vacations. After getting time off from the above activity, back to the wish of making Dino Park.Initially I tried some of stationary shops in the hunt of small Dino model,to my disappointment they are actually EXTINCT creature, even little model too.

DSCN6635

So I decided  to use my chocolate mold of Dinosaurs to build our own models. At the same time read book DINOSAURS with khwaish to have little brush of knowledge plus adding fun element of watching ICE AGE Movie.
DSCN6507

With the help of mold, using POP(plaster of Paris) as base material one day was dedicated for making of Dinosaur with interaction session on,could not click at the same time due to messy session.I managed to click Khwaish while taking out Dino from the mold.

Next session was dedicated towards colouring the Dinos. And you guessed it right ,first colour used by  Khwaish  was PINK(her favourite). We used some of mixed colour too ,mixing the colours was great fun altogether for Khwaish plus added experiments.

Our Dinosaur after colouring session…
DSCN6532

Khwaish all set for giving little detail to Dino’s….eyes,nose,spikes.
DSCN6536
Once we were ready with Dinosaur,we both set to create our park theme. To start our work used white chart paper and made lot of brush prints representing Dino’s Footmark.
DSCN6537
little patches of blue, water bodies around…
DSCN6541
Then some green patches…and black on some edges as lava flow, plus pink and red patches representing hot surface which is reason why Dino got extinct.
DSCN6546

Usually we go for evening walk ,we got some stone in all sizes to create rocky mountains during one of the walk session.
DSCN6615

Now time to put everything on board,we started with pasting some spare sticker of Dino from our book.I gave option to Khwaish to paint those rocky mountains in different colours, but she wanted to keep it natural and simple. So here we go ,placing mountains on our plain surface complimented by some green tree which I got when I was searching for Dino’s model.Added one little volcano on the corner…

Time to put main element in the park….. Dino’s .

DSCN6627
We had great time in  making Dino park, plus a good learning experience for me and Khwaish with lot of exploration .Please share your views and idea for Dino exploration process.
